Is our berkeley cam one of my favorite games to share with you so you guys know what this one looks like usually it definitely doesnt usually look like this a definite orange glow to it from the city lights down below now with conditions as i mentioned not having changed much since yesterday at this time we still do have that marine layer which is shielding or lower elevations in the bay for some of the worst of air quality. Well our inland areas are looking at very poor conditions. So that smoke is still sitting right above us and you have those water droplets in the atmosphere that are going to be refracting light in a pretty similar way to yesterday so theres likely to be orange pockets and if not orange at least grey and smoky so not a good day to plan a whole lot of outdoor activities. 50s and 60s for current temperatures, we remain cool day yesterday and today with lighter winds that smoke really hasnt gone anywhere. Its going to still sit across the bay area still a very dense l
Yeah. Kari, it was a toasty weekend. Yeah, we had some warm weather for the inland areas but it was still cool and foggy near the coast. I went up to stenson beach and it took until 5 00 in the evening before the sky cleared and it was nice and cool. And we could see the fog starting out early in San Francisco. Seeing it misting and drizzling at times and here our temperatures will stay in the 60s. You head across the bay to oakland. It is in the mid70s and upper 80s for the south bay. And then some mid90s for the east bay. Up in ukiah today, expect a high of 98 while santa rosa will get a little bit of the ocean breeze coming through the mountain gaps and well be in the mid80s. Well talk more about what is ahead for the rest of the workweek in a few minutes. But mike will get you ready to head out of the door. I wasnt ready for this, kari. The bay bridge toll plaza. Everything is so light including the bay bridge but the toll plaza showed the meterering lights on so now 20 minutes lat
If theres anything that kind of went a little right, its that the murder hornets never showed difficult. Even bees deal with coronavirus, they do have to deal with sudden colony collapse. Ironically, they have to deal with hornets. This is video of hornets kidnapping bees. Its fascinating video recorded by a Palo Alto Company called bee hero which has developed sensors to watch for incoming hornets. They have made radar for bees. Now for the record, these are asian giant hornets, not murder hornets. But i dont think the poor bee cares one way or another. Well show you more video later. I promise. Well get to the ceo and cofounder of bee hero. A man forever stuck happily on the bee team. I have so many questions. Lets go with the fact that bees are very important to farms. Farmers actually bring bees in to the farms and the bee keepers release the bees. You dont raise bees, right . Youre not bee keepers. What do you do . Yeah. My cofounder is a bee keeper and thats how i got to know tha
As advertised. Some of those really arrested over the weekend. Atmosphere looks to be primed for it. San jose had some low clouds and then they pretty much disappeared so its pretty much clear. Also over livermore it is clear. Theres a little bit of a breeze at fairfield at 26, but not much. Generally it is the overcast. Temperatures 60s, 70s, anywhere near the water and then 70s and 80s if you get a little inlet and then after that you can find 90s but temperatures are pretty close to seasonal averages and i dont think theyre changing anytime soon. We saw little backup at the bay bridge toll plaza, do you want to start there or somewhere else . Well we have to start near American Canyon. There is a grass fire on jamison canyon road and that is blocking access on highway 12 westbound as you head over towards the highway 1229 junction. I wouldnt head west on there right now. I would had to the American Canyon a different way. Chp is doing a traffic break for a grass fire right here wher
Executives use over and over, theyve said it so many times over so many years. It is so common, the New York Times charlie war zelle turned it into an acronym. We know we have more work to do. Mark zuckerberg used it just recently when reacting to advertisers pausing their ad spending worried that facebook has not had enough to do with combatting racism and antisemitism on its site. We know we have more work to do, said the facebook founder, but its hardly the first time weve seen it. So why is facebook so broken that it gives a mea culpa so often . Lets turn to an expert, dr. Chris mose studies leadership and institutional complexity at oxford, and he joins us from the university this morning. Good morning, doctor. Our executives feel theyre being pulled in trying to bring the world together through social media at the same time the thing is us arguing with each other, so hes pulled in two different directions. Facebook is very much based on the idea of creating divisiveness at the en
