According to the Karnataka Forest Department, forest officials have been on their toes examining the area for pug marks and excreta for the last couple of days. However, no direct or indirect evidence has been found by the officials so far.

Paediatricians say there is a sudden surge of AGE cases and on average 60% to 70% of the children admitted are due to gastroenteritis. The bug is presenting with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, dehydration, and fever. Patients are becoming sick and exhibiting shock-like conditions.

BBMP sets guidelines for naming public spaces

In response, the residents’ welfare association urged the BBMP Chief Commissioner to establish a policy framework ensuring the naming of common places does not insinuate, create conflicts of interest, or hurt the sentiments of any demographic group (caste, creed, or religion).

On January 23, the BBMP floated a tender inviting bidders for providing thermoplastic painting for rambler strips, painting of existing humps, junction markings and all other allied road safety provisions as per traffic police requirements, in arterial and sub-arterial roads of all zones.

A bid to commercialise RO plants in Bengaluru

However, the BBMP has decided to float tenders, inviting bidders for the maintenance of RO plants in the city. The civic body expects to generate around Rs 2 crore in revenue by handing over the RO plants to private individuals on a contract basis.
