The suspect fled southbound on buena vista avenue in an unknown vehicle, the suspect is described only as a male. We spoke with neighbors who he i heard the car first of all and then i heard his tires screeching as he came around the corner in about a minute later i heard the sirens going and my dogs were howling so i checked outside and then the next thing with the helicopter that i saw. Swat team members and even a k9 unit was brought in to help. Police also searched a car in the area that they eventually towed away. Then they shifted their resources just one block over. An armed man is holed up in a car near the corner of howe and old orchard roads. Swat teams surrounded him yesterday evening. And theyre still there. Police say hes suspected of shooting and killing a woman in walnut creek. That shooting happened yesterday afternoon near larkey park and the lindsey wildlife museum. Investigators say the gunman and the victim knew each other. We will continue to monitor this situation and bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom.
