Among the zones that needed fewer toilets are Bengaluru West and Dasarahalli. The BBMP has allocated only Rs 499.80 lakh for the construction of new toilets and improving the existing toilets. The BBMP has allocated Rs 824.66 lakh for Bengaluru East and Yelahanka Zones and Rs 826.67 lakh for Mahadevapura Zone.
Residents displayed their creativity through vibrant rangoli designs, engaged in reading sessions, and enthusiastically participated in pottery-making. Pottery took a unique twist as participants moulded idols of Lord Ganesha, adding a spiritual dimension to the event,” she added, emphasising that Cycle Day wasn’t limited to recreational activities. Educational sessions on composting, collecting old clothes for recycling, and other eco-friendly practices were also incorporated.
The first Cycle Day held on June 4 was a resounding success. Now, with the second edition just around the corner, locals are eagerly looking forward to another memorable event.
