COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Florida State beach volleyball has three of the four female members of the U.S. U21 beach volleyball team competing in the 2021 World Championships in Phuket, Thailand – Maddie Anderson, Raelyn White and Caitlin Godwin.
The FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships run December 14-19. Qualification takes place Tuesday, Dec. 14 and the main draw starts Wednesday, Dec. 15 (dates local to site).
Three American U21 pairs will begin in the 32-team main draw: Nicole Nourse/Maddie Anderson, Raelyn White/Caitlin Godwin and Matt Gentry/Phillip Catanzaro.
Godwin and White both finished their first season at Florida State in the spring while Anderson completed her first full season as her freshman campaign was cut short due to COVID-19.
White finished the 2021 season with a 9-2 record, going 1-0 on court three, 7-2 on court four and 1-0 on court five. Anderson was second on the team with 32 wins; 25 of those wins came on court three, six on court

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (32-4) earned its fifth straight CCSA Title on Sunday afternoon with its second win over LSU (25-7) in two days, 3-2.
“I am super proud of our team,” said head coach Brooke Niles. “We knew LSU was going to come out strong and play use really tough. To come out like that and take every punch that was thrown at us and keep fighting on every court until the last point, I am really proud of them. To win the fifth straight conference title is unbelievable. We came here with a goal of winning and competing and we did a really good job of that this weekend.”

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (31-4) continued their winning ways at the CCSA Tournament with a 4-1 win over LSU (24-6), improving their record to 25-0 all-time at the conference tournament.
It was a highly contested match across the board as three of the five courts went to three sets and only one set was won by more than five points.
Florida State jumped out early to take three of the five first sets on courts two, four and five. Sara Putt and Raelyn White converted that into the only straight-set win of the afternoon for the Seminoles on court four. They took an early 6-3 lead in the first set and maintained it on their way to a 21-17 first set win. Putt and White jumped out to a 6-4 lead in the second and expanded that to an 18-11 lead before

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (30-4) earned a 4-1 win over No. 17 South Carolina (22-8) on Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the CCSA Championship.
The Seminoles jumped out to early leads on courts two through four turning all four of them into first sets wins. Court one was back and forth with Torrey Van Winden and Keara Rutz trailing 14-13. They went on to take the first set 21-16 after winning eight of the final 10 points.
The second sets were a little bit closer but the Noles would win four of them to take a 4-0 lead. Alaina Chacon and Maddie Anderson were the first to finish for the Garnet and Gold as they took court two 21-16, 21-10. Payton Caffrey and Molly McBain gave Florida State a 2-0 lead not too long after with a 21-17, 21-19 win on court three.
