Sinha honored their courage and sacrifice, stating that the nation will always be grateful for their service. The attack, carried out by a Pakistan-linked suicide bomber, led to retaliatory action by the Indian Air Force on terror camps in Balakot, Pakistan. Security forces, political and social groups, and various organizations have planned events to mark the fifth anniversary of the attack.
