KATHMANDU, Dec 10: It has been proposed to reduce 72 staff positions in the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (PMO) as the number of employees is more than the requirement.

KATHMANDU, June 7: Lawmaker Khim Lal Devkota has demanded downsizing the House of Representatives (HoR) reasoning that it was huge. Putting forth his views during the post-budget deliberation at the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, lawmaker Devkota pointed out the need of curtailing the size of HoR which has a quota for 275 members.
Finance Minister Dr Prakash Saran Mahat presented the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in the parliament on 29th May 2023, with promises to lift the descending economy and to accelerate development activities. The budget with an economic growth rate of six percent to be achieved in the next fiscal year expects to tame the inflation rate at 6.5 percent.
