At a time when the main opposition party, the CPN-UML, has been obstructing parliament, the lawmakers of the ruling party also rose from their seats and obstructed the ongoing meeting. They obstructed, stating that the opposition had been obstructing parliament.
KATHMANDU, August 3: The meeting of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, was adjourned even today after the CPN-UML obstructed it. As soon as the meeting started, the UML MPs rose from their chairs demanding an investigation into the gold smuggling case. KATHMANDU, June 7: Lawmaker Khim Lal Devkota has demanded downsizing the House of Representatives (HoR) reasoning that it was huge. Putting forth his views during the post-budget deliberation at the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, lawmaker Devkota pointed out the need of curtailing the size of HoR which has a quota for 275 members.
