KATHMANDU, July 19: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of the controversial Constituency Infrastructure Development Fund.
Despite criticism from various quarters of society, the government has given continuity to the Local Infrastructure Development Program (LIDP), previously known as the Constituency Development Fund. However, most of the lawmakers from across the parties have maintained silence over the resumption of the controversial program.
KATHMANDU, June 7: Lawmaker Khim Lal Devkota has demanded downsizing the House of Representatives (HoR) reasoning that it was huge. Putting forth his views during the post-budget deliberation at the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, lawmaker Devkota pointed out the need of curtailing the size of HoR which has a quota for 275 members.
