Callers to The Clement Manyathela Show open line criticised Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane for failure to wear a mask during the funeral of Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu in eMalahleni on Sunday.
The Minister of Police Bheki Cele calls for an investigation into that conduct.
Her spokesperson Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni said the premierâs mask was damaged and she was oblivious of the fact that it had fallen off.

PRETORIA - A memorial service for the late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu is being held in Pretoria.
The minister passed away last week after being hospitalised with the coronavirus.
His funeral was held on Sunday at his home in Emalahleni.

Under fire Mpumalanga premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane says she did not know that her mask was off when she walked out of her official car at the cemetery during the funeral of minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu in eMalahleni yesterday.
Mtshweni-Tsipane ignited a furore when she appeared publicly not wearing a mask, smiling and giving hugs to mourners as she strolled out of the cemetery where Mthembu was laid to rest.

JOHANNESBURG - The memorial service of the late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu will be held on Monday in Pretoria.
Mthembu succumbed to COVID-19 last week, a few days after he was admitted to hospital.
Mthembu’s memorial service was due to be held on Saturday but was postponed after engagements between the presidency and his family.
