ECP publishes Qadir Mandokhail s name as returned candidate

Mandokhail was declared as winning candidate to the NA as a result of by-election held on April 29.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday published the name of Qadir Khan Mandokhail from Pakistan Peoples’ Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) as a returned candidate to the constituency NA-249 Karachi West-II.
According to ECP notification, Qadir Khan Mandokhail was declared as the winning candidate to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a result of the by-election held on April 29, 2021.
On Saturday, following the PML-N requested recount, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Qadir Mandokhel had once again come out on top in the NA-249 by-election race.

Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Qadir Khan Mandokhel has gained a lead of 909 votes after a recount in the National Assembly constituency NA-249 Karachi, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Mandokhel bagged 15,656 votes in the by-election. He was
followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Miftah Ismail, who secured 14,747
votes.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement have boycotted the Election Commission of Pakistan recount of votes cast during Karachi s NA-249 by-election on May 1. The election body approved on May 4 the request for vote recount filed by PML-N s Miftah Ismail, who contested the by-election. All political parties, except for the Pakistan Peoples Party, criticised the recounting process when it started Thursday morning.
