Narowal [Pakistan], May 3 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal has taken a jibe at Prime Minister Imran Khan s party, saying the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wants to introduce electronic voting because it has repeatedly faced defeat in the elections.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Iqbal said that electronic voting was yet another drama staged by the ruling PTI to rig the elections, reported Geo News. The PTI did not think of introducing electoral reforms in the last three years but suddenly came up with the idea of electronic voting after facing defeat in by-polls again and again, said Iqbal.

Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Sunday over allegations of rigging in the recently held NA-249 by-election.
Addressing a press conference at the Bilawal House, the PPP stalwart said that The PML-N lost the NA-249 by-election owing to its own mismanagement and overconfidence.
Taking an apparent jibe at the PML-N, Ghani said that those who are accusing the PPP of winning the by-poll through rigging should clarify whether they won the Daska and Wazirabad by-polls in Punjab and Nowshera by-election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the help of selectors.

Commission issues notices to respondents; hearing scheduled for May 4 FAFEN reports 143 violations during by-election in Karachi

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday accepted PML-N candidate Miftah Ismail’s request for a recount of votes of April 29 by-election in NA-249 Karachi for a hearing.
According to a notification by the ECP, the hearing will be held on May 4. Notices in this regard have been sent to all the respondents.
In the meanwhile, the ECP has issued a stay order, withholding results of the NA-249 by-poll.
Ismail had written a letter to the chief election commissioner seeking a vote recount in NA-249. The PML-N has also requested the ECP to conduct a forensic audit of the votes in the constituency.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lost the NA-249 election due to overconfidence and mismanagement.
Addressing a press conference, Saeed Ghani said the PML-N had no right to raise a hue and cry about the election results, adding that it was strange that no one protested when PML-N’s Miftah Ismail was in the lead.
On allegations that he somehow got ahold of the election results before they came out, Ghani said he had tweeted the numbers that were available to him from the form 45 issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
