Dear colleagues on monday night we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the work place by matt lauer. It represented after serious review a clear violation of our companys standards. As a result, we have decided to terminate his employment. George for kimberly ali, these office hallways are the frontlines of her departments newest battle, the battle to recruit a new generation of foster parents. Kimberly we just need the help. We need the help, our young people need the help. George alis team is responsible for every step in the foster care process for 5,000 plus philly kids. The work has changed dramatically in recent years. After the child sex abuse case of jerry sandusky, state laws were tightened and the number of calls to alis child abuse hotline sky rocketed. Kimberly we used to have about 21,000 calls to our hotline. Now, were up to 34,000 calls. George not all of those calls end up with a child in foster care, but when the
Information after two people were shot and killed on chain street. One mother there tells me she decided to keep her son home from school today she was so worried about the shooting. This block has been peaceful for years. Marjorie long decided to keep her 11yearold home today didnt want him walking down the block where two men were shot and killed just after midnight. Every house just about has multiple kids. Reporter we saw families up and down chain street near oak. Police had the area blocked oof looking for clues from the shoot shooter. I have a couple of nephews that live around here. Came around here to check and make sure they was all right. He was relieved to learn his family is okay says violence around here picked up recently, even with young families in the neighborhood. This area has gotten real bad. Katy zachary, nbc 10 news.
