Feb 26, 2021, 12:10 IST CHITTOR: The fourth phase  of panchayat polls ended on a high note, and the YSRCP-backed candidates grabbed nearly 80 percent of the votes thus sealing the fate of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and putting the political future of its president Nara Chandrababu Naidu in difficulty. After the party s severe defeat in the panchayat polls the Opposition leader embarked on a three-day tour of his Kuppam assembly constituency in Chittoor district on Thursday for what one would call as damage control and assess the cause for the drubbing in the elections.

Panchayat Elections: TDP Activists Attack YSRCP Supporters In Srikakulam Feb 24, 2021, 11:27 IST SRIKAKULAM: Post the panchayat elections in the State of Andhra Pradesh, two different incidents of attacks on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) supporters over the past two days by  the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)  left several people injured in the clashes that erupted in Mettavalasa and Chillapetarajam villages in Srikakulam district. On Monday a clash erupted between workers of TDP and YSRCP in Mettavalasa village of Srikakulam where 16 persons were injured after the panchayat elections results were declared. The TDP workers had a verbal clash with YSRCP workers which led to a fight leaving 16 people injured. The police  were called in  and rushed to the spot and dispersed the groups. The injured persons were sent to Government General Hospital in nearby Rajam town. The police  have set up a picket in the village to prevent any untoward incidents in the village.

Complete List of Sarpanches Who Won The Fourth Phase of AP Panchayat Elections 2021 Feb 24, 2021, 13:27 IST AMARAVATI: The fourth and the concluding phase of the Gram panchayat elections concluded on Sunday, where more than 80 per cent polling was recorded on each of the four phases as per the State Election Commission release. The polling was held to elect 2,743 village sarpanches and 22,423 ward members in 3,299 gram panchayats. As per reports 554 sarpanches were declared elected unopposed. The panchayat elections were conducted on an apolitical basis and the ruling YSR Congress  party  supported candidates have won more than 82 per cent of the sarpanch and ward posts.

AP Panchayat Polls: YSRCP Activist Murdered By TDP Leaders In Mudumala Village Kadapa Feb 22, 2021, 12:33 IST KADAPA: A YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) activist Mudumala Bhaskar Reddy (52), was brutally murdered by TDP members on Sunday in Mudumala village, Brahmangarimatham mandal, Maidukuru constituency in YSR Kadapa district. According to the victim s family members and locals, the YSRCP supporters were unanimously elected as the sarpanches of Mudumala and Palugurallapalle panchayats in the elections held recently. One Meesala Duggireddy, a TDP leader from Jaukupalle in Palugurallapalle panchayat who was unable to handle the loss over the unanimous win of the YSRCP leader, came with his followers and accosted Bhaskar Reddy between Mudumala and Jaukupalle villages on Sunday. In a fight that ensued, he asked Bhaskar Reddy to compromise and in a fit of rage, the TDP activist hit him hard on the head with an iron rod. After Bhaskar Reddy collapsed, they fled from there.

Chandrababu Faces Existential Crisis As YSRCP Wins Over 87% Panchayats In Kuppam Feb 18, 2021, 11:36 IST CHITTOOR: The Telugu Desam Party s nightmare continues as candidates backed by the ruling YSRCP bag over 87% of panchayats falling in the Kuppam assembly constituency of  the TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu.  The yellow outfit managed to secure just 8 out of 63 panchayats, the results of which have been declared by far. On the other hand, YSRCP backed candidates have won a whopping 55 panchayats. Counting in 26 panchayats is still underway . The TDP and its chief Chandrababu Naidu s plunge into obscurity seems to have come to a logical conclusion with the former CM failing to secure his bastion.
