This is a new system that went into effect last year and there millions of mailin ballots that are being counted and that takes longer than the way we used to do it with in person voting. Thats the assistant registrar of voters on what theyre seeing this general election here in Contra Costa County with today being the deadline for registration we expect to go over. 700,000 voters for the first time in our history today. We about a year ago yesterday that would be our weather account and here we are on the final day of registration.
