Halle Mackiewicz Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – After recording a shutout against No. 7 Arkansas and helping lead the Tigers to a draw against Georgia, goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference announced on Tuesday.  In week four, the starting goalkeeper helped the No. 9 Tigers secure a 1-0 victory over the No. 7 Razorbacks, which marked the highest ranked win at home since the Tigers beat No. 6 Notre Dame in 2022. On the road, Mackiewicz and the Tigers earned a 1-1 draw over Georgia as Clemson was able to level the score in Athens in the 69’. Mackiewicz wrapped up the week with six saves and only one goal allowed.  Mackiewicz has had an impressive start to the 2023 season as the senior has picked up six clean sheets, which ties her for most in the NCAA alongside Samford’s Zoe Clevely.
