After earning Big 12 Boat of the Week honors and a decisive 17-5 win against Kansas State in this year's Dillons Sunflower Showdown, the Kansas Rowing team will now head to Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, to compete in the Big 12 Rowing Championship on Sunday, May 19.
Junior Lily Hirst posted a 4-under round of 68 at Tumble Creek Club on day one of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, marking the second-lowest round by a Kansas golfer ever in NCAA Tournament play. The Jayhawks are in sixth place at +6 after an opening round of 294.
In a tightly contested series, Kansas fell 4-2 to Kansas State on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match at Tointon Family Stadium. Kansas had a 2-0 lead after four innings, but the Wildcats scored one run in the fifth, one run in the sixth and two in the seventh to pull ahead and win the game.
Kansas and Omaha’s game scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas, has been canceled. Due to the Kansas City Monarchs schedule, Kansas and Omaha will be unable to play as originally scheduled.
Kansas Athletics presented the student-athletes of the 2024 senior class with their K Rings in a ceremony held at the Kansas Union on Sunday evening. The program featured several awards presentations as well as appearances by a host of former Jayhawk greats to help congratulate the graduating seniors on their outstanding Kansas careers.
