Premier Oscar Mabuyane will have to decide whether to set up a commission of inquiry into taxi killings after the resurgence of violence in the industry. This is according to Bishop Ziphozihle Siwa, the chair of a task team which was appointed by Mabuyane last year to mediate in the taxi industry violence.
As Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane was listing the terms of reference of a task team to mediate in the taxi violence in Bhisho on Tuesday, a man believed to be behind some of the taxi-related murders in the province was shot dead near East London.
Premier Oscar Mabuyane plans to establish a task team to clamp down on ongoing taxi violence in the province, after four more people were gunned down last week.
