NCOC guidelines for Eid prayers

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday approved strict guidelines and safety protocols for holding Eid ul Fitr prayers across the country.
According to the guidelines, Eid prayers should be organised at open spaces with Covid protocols.
In case if there was compulsion to offer Eid prayers in Masjid then windows and doors should be kept opened for good ventilation to reduce risk of infection and disease transmission.
However, in order to reduce gatherings two to three Eid prayers at a venue with staggered timings and minimum strength are held.

PCB ready to shift PSL to UAE, awaits NCOC response

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to transfer the remaining matches of PSL to the UAE.
According to sources, the PCB is awaiting the advice of the NCOC in this regard as the NCOC will issue a directive on whether the PSL matches will be held in Karachi or not.
Sources said that if the NCOC directs the PCB not to hold the event in Karachi, then it would be shifted to the UAE as it is necessary for the PCB to complete the event and it is difficult to get a window ahead.

ISLAMABAD: An important meeting between the PCB officials and the high-ups of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) is on the cards around Eidul Fitr to decide on remaining matches of the PSL VI set to start at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi from June 1.
An NCOC official has told ‘The News’ that the NCOC is in constant touch with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) amid the volatile Covid-19 situation in Karachi the host city for the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) VI matches in June.
“We stay in touch regularly with the PCB and all other sporting units planning to either host the events or requiring vaccination for their athletes. We are closely monitoring the whole situation. A meeting with the PCB officials is expected to be held around Eid possibly just after the holidays to decide on the PSL VI matches scheduled in Karachi. No one should have any doubts that the NCOC has already started implementing the strictest of measur
Eidul Fitr holidays notified
ISLAMABAD:
The interior ministry on Monday announced Eidul Fitr holidays in the country from May 10 to 15. The notification for the Eid holidays was issued based on the recommendations of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and with the approval of PM Imran Khan, according to a spokesperson for the ministry.
The Covid-19 standard operating procedures for Eid have already been issued, the spokesperson added. This year’s Eid comes as Pakistan struggles to contain a third wave of coronavirus infections, with more than 800,000 cases and 18,000 deaths declared and only a fraction of the population having been vaccinated.
