NA temporarily suspends activities amid surge in Covid cases
Official statement says all offices of secretariat to remain closed until March 16

As Covid cases surge across the country following a third wave of the virus, the National Assembly announced a temporary suspension of all its activities on Sunday.
According to a statement released by the NA secretariat s administration, offices of the secretariat will remain closed for two days.
The announcement further said that all sessions of the standing and special committees and public accounts have been cancelled as part of the decision. The offices, it added, will remain closed until March 16.

Islamabad [Pakistan], March 14 (ANI): Amid a worsening coronavirus situation in Pakistan, the Islamabad administration on Saturday made the wearing of masks in public mandatory, reported Geo News.
Pakistan s coronavirus situation has taken a turn for the worse, with total cases zooming past 600,000 to hit 602,536 in the last 24 hours.
The district administration has warned that legal action will be taken against those found not wearing a mask, adding that the mask-wearing rule will remain in place for the next two months.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been put in place for the implementation of the rule, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, Hamza Shafqat said.
The Country is again witnessing a surge in Coronavirus Cases as 2,338 more people were found positive in the last 24 hours with a national positivity ratio of 5.5%.
Pakistan recorded 43 more deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, as per the latest statistics compiled by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
