DDC Members Administered Oath Across JK
SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India.

New Delhi, Dec 24 : While Farooq Abdullahs Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) has bagged the largest number of seats overall in the J&K District Development Council (DDC) polls, it has suffered a setback in its fortress of Srinagar as it has bagged only one out of the 14 seats in the summer capital district. On the other hand, NCs arch rival, the BJP, has retained control of over 11 seats and lost not more than 3 in the winter capital district of Jammu.
