DDC Members Administered Oath Across JK
SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India.
AT SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today administered oath to the recently elected members of District Development Council (DDC) of Srinagar, who registered their victory in the first DDC election held in Jammu & Kashmir.

JAMMU, Dec 23: Over 90,000 West Pak refugee voters have turned out to be a major factor in the win of BJP candidates from nearly a score of District Development Council (DDC) seats, along the border belt of Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts.
West Pak refugees, who got the opportunity to cast their vote in the local elections in J&K for the first time, were highly enthusiastic and participated in good number in the recently concluded DDC elections. The youth and even the elderly persons did exercise their franchise during these elections in big way.

JAMMU, Dec 22: Riding high on the wave of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir leading to total integration of erstwhile State with India and very effective campaigning by several Union Ministers and national leaders, the BJP tonight won clear majority in six District Development Councils (DDCs) out of total 10 in Jammu and emerged as a major power in the region bagging 72 out of 140 DDC seats while the Congress was relegated to third spot with just 17 seats even behind 24 of National Conference and 20 by the Independents. Newly floated Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) which was contesting its first election captured three seats while Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Panthers Party (JKNPP) suffered humiliating defeat by getting just two seats.
