(MURFREESBORO) October 3-9, 2021 is Fire Prevention Week. Area firefighters encourage the public to learn the sounds of fire safety. This year’s campaign works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

(MURFREESBORO) Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a home fire around 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. When the first unit arrived at 1316 Peachtree Street, smoke and flames were visible.
Crews quickly got the blaze on the three bedroom home under control.
Fire officials say that the resident was home, but safely exited the burning structure without receiving any injuries.
Peachtree Street is between Battleground Drive and Jones Boulevard.
