49 shops sealed over corona violations Lahore May 1, 2021 LAHORE:District Administration Lahore continued its operations against violators of corona SOPs and sealed over 49 businesses here on Friday. DC Lahore Mudassar Riaz said that a total of 49 shops and stores were sealed and 10 persons were arrested for violating corona SOPs. Assistant Commissioner Raiwind Adnan Rasheed sealed 15 shops in Chungi Amar Sadhu and arrested 03 persons. Assistant Commissioner City Faizan Ahmed sealed 17 shops and stores and 02 restaurants and Assistant Commissioner Cantt Zeeshan Nasrullah Ranjha arrested 15 shops and stores while 07 people were arrested. DC Lahore Mudassar Riaz passed strict instructions regarding implementing corona SOPs. COVID-19 kills 127 more in Punjab

Lahore April 29, 2021 LAHORE:Around 127 patients died of COVID19 and another 2,676 positive cases were confirmed in Punjab during the last 24 hours. According to report issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Wednesday, the death toll reached 8,224 in Punjab, while confirmed cases became 296,144 in the province. As per the spokesperson for Corona Monitoring Room at Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, 20,665 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, which raised the total number of tests to 4,541,667 in the province. After 8,224 fatalities and recovery of a total of 240,814 patients, including 1,524 recoveries in the last 24 hours, so far, 47,106 active cases still remain, who are either isolated at homes or under treatment at different public and private hospitals.

The commissioner ordered the launching of the new system of buying sugar directly from the mills instead of the wholesale market to end the artificial shortage of the commodity and the role of middlemen.

200 mobile Sasti Insaf Shops launched Lahore April 8, 2021 LAHORE:The district administration on Wednesday launched 200 Insaf Sasti Mobile Shops in the provincial metropolis under the Punjab Employment Scheme. DC Mudassar Riaz said the 200 mobile shops had been established in rickshaws in all tehsils of Lahore city for sale of fruits and vegetables at the officially-fixed rates. The DC said that all the assistant commissioners visited the mobile shops in their respective tehsils to review the situation on the first day of launch of the shops. City Assistant Commissioner Faisan Ahmed visited the mobile shops at Gulshan-e-Ravi, Iqbal Town Moon Market, Kharak Nulla and Yateem Khana Chowk and checked the quality, quantity and rates of fruits and vegetables there. The people were seen buying fruits and vegetables at affordable mobile shops, said the DC, adding the citizens appreciated this noble initiative of the district administration.
