Punjab admin asked to implement guidelines for corona victims burial

LAHORE: The majority of the families of Covid-19 victims are not following the SOPs issued by Primary and Secondary Health Department during their burial.
Commissioner Lahore Division took notice of this issue and directed the district administration to ensure implementation of the burial guidelines of Primary and Secondary Health Department.
Following the direction of the commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz wrote a letter to 18 public and private hospitals and directed them to implement SOPs for burial of patients who died due to Corona.
Sources in the district administration revealed that the commissioner got many reports that regular funerals of patients died due to Covid-19 had been carried out in the city.

LAHORE:Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan and Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid reached Expo Centre to monitor vaccination facilities here on Sunday.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Captain (r) Usman Younis, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz, Additional Secretary Technical PSH Department Dr Asim Altaf, Deputy Secretary Ms Rafia Haider, Ahmer Khan and other officials were present on the occasion. Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Yasmin Rashid reviewed the process of vaccination for people of over 60 years of age. Secretary PSH Department Captain (r) Usman Younis apprised the minister of arrangements for vaccination. Dr Yasmin Rashid inquired from citizens their views and sought feedback. Renowned law expert Aitzaz Ahsan was also present and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and prayed for Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman

Turkish company takes up LWMC dispute with PAC chief

LAHORE: A delegation of Turkish company Oz-Pak met Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari, Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC), here on Friday.
The Turkish delegation included Managing Director Nizamuddin, Deputy Managing Director Karim Mobin and Project Director Syed Afzal Shah.The delegation conveyed their concerns to the Chairman Public Accounts Committee about the ongoing dispute with the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC).
They said that LWMC has yet to clear pending payments of the company while it has detained over 300 vehicles out of which only 81 were to be donated to LWMC after the clearance of payment. Yawar Abbas assured full cooperation to the Turkish companyâs delegation and called for resolving all issues by mutual consent. The Chairman further said that Pakistan and Turkey have strong brotherly relations and we stand with our Turkish brothers.
Civil Defence Day celebrated

LAHORE:To celebrate the Civil Defence Day, district administration organised a walk here on Monday. Lahore Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz and Civil Defence Director Punjab Shahid Kayani graced the occasion as special guests. Civil Defence officers were also present. The walk was started from Nasser Bagh and ended at Town Hall. Addressing on the occasion, the DC appreciated the Civil Defence personnel. He said that Civil Defence personnel were dedicated to the national spirit and the volunteers perform their duties with utmost honesty.
