In thahashort time, there was damage caused by the strong winds. Winds. Ian crim sent us this picture from fairfax. He tells fox 28 news strong winds ripped the roof off their machine shed. At the marion library, a meeting had to be put on hold and those in attendance had to seek shelter. A short time later the all clear was sounded and the meeting was able to continue one of the hardest hit areas today was in des moines. Moines. Thats where a tornado touched down at the international airport. Widespread damage was reported in neighborhoods around the metro area. Significant damage was also reported in nearby knoxville, where witnesses say a tornado ripped part of the roof off a walmart. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported.
