MUMBAI: The BMC on Sunday continued its crackdown against restaurants, bars and pubs for violating Covid-19 norms that began over the weekend filing FIRs against three bars and pubs in Andheri (west).
According to BMC officials, bars and pubs with dance floors were found violating Covid-19 protocols of social distancing, crowd control and face masks the most.
The BMC’s K-West ward filed an FIRs against Amethhyyst Lounge Bar, Arbour 28 and Club Illusions for violating Covid-19 norms. All the three clubs are located in the Veera Industrial Estate in the T-Series Lane in Andheri (west).
The lockdown will be in force till 8 am on March 1, state minister Yashomati Thakur said.

AMRAVATI: Due to the spike in the coronavirus cases in the past few days, Amravati district in Maharashtra s Vidarbha region will be placed under a week-long lockdown from 8 pm on February 22, a state minister said on Sunday.
The lockdown will be in force till 8 am on March 1, minister Yashomati Thakur said.
Apart from the week-long lockdown in Amravati, certain restrictions will be in place in four other districts of Amravati division- Akola, Washim, Buldhana and Yavatmal- with a view to curb the spread of the virus, an official said.
MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched a major crackdown against restaurants, bars and pubs for violating Covid-19 norms over the weekend.
The BMC filed an FIR against 145 Bandra (restaurant and bar) for allowing close to 250 people at the outlet and not maintaining social distancing.
The BMC also conducted raids and penalised popular restaurants and pubs such as Irish House, U Turn Sports Bar and Quarter Pillar Bar in the Bandra-Khar area.
These establishments were penalised between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 for violation of Covid-19 norms.
The BMC on Saturday collected over Rs 32 lakh in fines from people for not wearing masks.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has filed a police complaint against four Dubai returnees who violated the government s coronavirus-related guidelines and returned to their homes without completing the seven-day quarantine mandatory for international travellers.
Mumbai Police in a statement said, We have registered a case on BMC s complaint and booked four Dubai returnees under sections 188, 269 and 270 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
