I drive by the taraval corridor often and i know that when i go by a building it screams to me what a gorgeous property that should be preserved. I think that putting in a multitenant building fits in with the properties that are around it. I understand the concerns of the other neighbors, but development is common in the city and we want to keep moving the city forward. As someone who is looking to invest in this community currently and conditions that were facing, i see the businesses close left and right in my neighborhood. And so if they want to push this city forward and invest and bring in jobs and construction and bring more housing into the city and modernize the city, im all for that. From last nights looting. We begin with the protests underway right now in downtown San Francisco. Good evening. Im brian hackney. Im juliette. Joe joins us in the market area. Joe. Weve been monitoring a large, loud, boisterous, yet peaceful demonstration as it makes its way through the streets of San Francisco. Lets take a look from up above chopper 5. This is a crowd of about thousands. They started at city hall, roughly 3 00 with a few hundred. Now it has grown exponentially. These folks are protesting the death of george floyd, one of many demonstrations around the country. Demonstrating against the death of a man at the hands of a Police Officer. Weve watched as just in the last hour, this crowd branched off in two different directions. One went toward the bay bridge. The other toward the hall of justice. One young demonstrator said he recognizes even gathering in this crowd presents a risk to him. Were all risking something by being here. You see, like, how armed the police here

A couple hours ago. The san jose mayor joining her. This is video from earlier, from San Francisco. This is a large group of protesters who have been marching this way and that, both sides of market street, near the embarcadero as well. Two separate groups have merged. There have been some confrontations with police. Nothing too violent. A little pushing and shoving at one point. A Police Vehicle was surrounded. But it was never approached by protesters. It was allowed to back out of there and everybody went about their business and thats the way it has been for the last three hours, at least. Now, two hours ago, san jose mayor sam liccardo joined ting a knee. The mayor took that knee to show solidarity with the cause and the he needed with the group to stay peaceful.
