MediaTek Dimensity 1200 6nm SoC with Dual SIM 5G, up to 168Hz displays and Dimensity 1100 announced
MediaTek just announced Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100, the company’s latest top-end SoCs with built-in 5G. These are the company’s first mobile chips to use TSMC’s 6nm process technology. The Dimensity 1200 has an octa-core CPU designed with an ultra-core Arm Cortex-A78 clocked up to 3GHz for extreme performance, three Arm Cortex-A78 super cores clocked up to 2.6GHz and four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2GHz.
This promises up to 22% faster CPU performance and 25% more power-effeciency compared to the previous generation. It has nine-core Mali-G77 GPU offering 13% increase in performance compared to the previous generation and six-core MediaTek APU 3.0.

On the launch of MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1200 flagship 5G smartphone chip, Realme has today announced that it will be one of the first brands to introduce a smartphone with Dimensity 1200, to build dual flagships portfolio in 2021. As per a report of GSMArena, the Realme X9 Pro will be one of the first Dimensity 1200-powered phones. The phone is expected to be the successor of the Realme X7 series.

MediaTek has launched two new Dimensity-branded chipsets, the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100. The former is MediaTek s latest ARM Cortex-A78-powered flagship offering which performs on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, while the latter is a slightly more scaled-down version. MediaTek has announced two new chipsets in its Dimensity lineup. The MediaTek Dimensity 1100 and 1200 are 5G chips based on the latest 6nm architecture as compared to the 7nm process used on previous MediaTek Dimensity chips.
MediaTek claims that the new 6nm chips will come with “unrivalled AI, camera, and multimedia features for powerful 5G experiences.” Realme will be among the first OEMs to launch a phone with the new Dimensity 1200 chip, with Oppo, Xiaomi, and Vivo set to follow suit.
