Champions! FSU Men Capture ACC Championship

DURHAM, N.C. - The Florida State men's track and field team put together one of the most dominant performances in ACC history in route to their second-straight ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Noles scored 149 points, the most since the league expanded to 15 teams, and won by 56 points, the largest margin of victory since league expansion. The women's team finished third with 99 points. Jeremiah Davis (men's field) and Edidiong Odiong (women's track) were each named Most Valuable Performers which is given the athlete who scored the most points throughout the championship. Three Noles Crowned ACC Champions on Day One of ACC Championships

DURHAM, N.C. - The Florida State track and field team got off to a terrific start Thursday at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Isaac Grimes (long jump), Lauren Ryan (10,000m run) and Ahmed Muhumed (10,000m run) each took home ACC titles on the first day of competition. The men currently lead the team standings with 33 points while the women are fourth with 24 points. Grimes led a trio of FSU jumpers in the long jump competition. The Noles went first, second and fourth in the event to score 23 points in a single event. Grimes won the event with a season-best and facility record mark of 8.05m. Jeremiah Davis finished second with a mark of 7.96m and Jacore Irving finished fourth with a personal best mark of 7.83m. The distance group shined late into the night, as Lauren Ryan ran away with the 10,000m run title by nearly 26 seconds. Three Noles Snag Individual Titles at UNF on Day One

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team picked up two victories on a windy day at Hodges Stadium on the campus of North Florida. Jeremiah Davis was the highlight for the Noles. Davis won the long jump with a mark of 7.98m, just 0.01m off his personal best which he set indoors in the 2021 season. Davis bettered his outdoor personal best after going 7.92m at the Tom Jones Memorial two weeks ago. The Noles dominated the long jump event taking three out of the four spots. Jacore Irving finished third with a mark of 7.73m while Isaac Grimes finished right behind him in fourth with a mark of 7.74m. Sam Field picked up his second victory of the season in the 1500m run. Field took the lead in the last 100 meters and clocked in at 3:46.47 for the win. Humberto Freire (3:48.69) finished fourth while Jacob Holmes finished (3:50.41). Zabarino Takes Javelin Title at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Five athletes competed in four different events for the Florida State track and field team Saturday afternoon at the Crimson Tide Invitational and Virginia Challenge. In Tuscaloosa, Sara Zabarino posted the best mark of her career in the javelin. Zabarino saved her best throw for last going 54.65m on her last attempt. The mark just outlasted her previous personal best of 54.48m. Zabarino's mark today is the third-best mark in school history and is the 10th-best mark in the NCAA this season. Amani Heaven had a great day in the shot put, as she shattered her personal record with a throw of 16.03m. Heaven's mark puts her No. 8 on FSU's all-time list in the event and is the fifth-best mark in the ACC this season. Over in Charlottesville, Ruby Stauber was the lone Nole to compete on Saturday at the Virginia Challenge. Stauber finished fourth in the 800m dash with a time of 2:04.58. Noles Continue Season at Virginia and Alabama

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field program will be splitting off into two groups this upcoming weekend at the Virginia Challenge and the Crimson Tide Invitational. The distance runners will head to Charlottesville, Va., while the throwers will hit the road to Tuscaloosa, Ala. Action in Charlottesville begins at 9 a.m. with the men's 10,000m run, while the Crimson Tide Invitational will begin at 2 p.m. with Megan Cook in the women's hammer throw. Three key distance runners will be making their outdoor debut on Friday. On the men's side, Adriaan Wildschutt and Ahmed Muhumed will look to pace the Noles in their first races of the outdoor season. Wildschutt will be running the 5000m run on Friday. Wildschutt holds the school record in the event with a time of 13:28.97 which he set last year at the North Florida Invite.
