Zabarino Earns First-Team All-America Honors in the Javelin

EUGENE, Ore. -    The 4x100m relay began the night off with a bang with a record-breaking performance. Edidiong Odiong, Savy'on Toombs, Ka'Tia Seymour and Ashley Seymour combined to break the ACC record and the 29-year-old school record with a time of 42.78. The Noles had the fifth-fastest time of the three heats and finished second in their heat to automatically qualify for the finals. The finals will take place on Saturday at 5:32 p.m. on ESPN.

Nwanaga and Zabarino Qualify for NCAA Championships in the Javelin

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Florida State track and field team punched two more tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships Thursday afternoon at the NCAA East Preliminary in Bloomington, Ind.  Our ladies had a really good day today. Obviously, the highlight was our two javelin throwers punching their ticket, but our sprinters had a fantastic day along with solid performances from Ruby [Stauber] and Maudie [Skyring]. Kelechi Nwanaga and Sara Zabarino will return to Eugene in the javelin after they each posted a top five finish in the event. Nwanaga posted a solid mark on her first of three throws with a mark of 54.72m to finish second. That mark was Nwanga’s best mark since Mar. 24 at the FSU Relays where she threw a personal best 55.06m. Three Noles Crowned ACC Champions on Day One of ACC Championships

DURHAM, N.C. - The Florida State track and field team got off to a terrific start Thursday at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Isaac Grimes (long jump), Lauren Ryan (10,000m run) and Ahmed Muhumed (10,000m run) each took home ACC titles on the first day of competition. The men currently lead the team standings with 33 points while the women are fourth with 24 points. Grimes led a trio of FSU jumpers in the long jump competition. The Noles went first, second and fourth in the event to score 23 points in a single event. Grimes won the event with a season-best and facility record mark of 8.05m. Jeremiah Davis finished second with a mark of 7.96m and Jacore Irving finished fourth with a personal best mark of 7.83m. The distance group shined late into the night, as Lauren Ryan ran away with the 10,000m run title by nearly 26 seconds. Cunningham Climbs to No 4 on NCAA All-Time Charts at UNF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Trey Cunningham's special year continued Saturday afternoon at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., on the campus of North Florida. Cunningham climbed the NCAA all-time ranks by running a personal best 13.10 in the 110m hurdles. Cunningham's time is the fastest in the world to date and now puts him No. 4 on the NCAA all-time list. The time also broke his own school record and only seven races have ever been faster in collegiate history. He also sits at No. 40 on the world all-time charts. Cunningham's final race was also the fastest race this early in the season in collegiate history. Edidiong Odiong continued her breakout season in the 100m dash. Odiong ran a personal best 11.14 in the event to finish second among collegians. Odiong's time puts her No. 3 on FSU's all-time list and No. 15 in the country this season.
