Notre Dame, Ind.  –  The No. 29/18 Florida State cross country teams competed among 22 ranked teams at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. The 18th-ranked women’s team started the day by finishing seventh in the 5K and the No. 29 men took fourth in the 5-mile race. With the track of the Burke Golf Course running slower than usual, on a warm, dry, sunny mid-western Fall morning, senior Adriaan Wildschutt picked up his third victory of the season in dominating fashion, crossing the line with a time of 23:06.7 in the 5-mile race. “That was a special race for him today,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said, “I’ve been coming to this meet as a coach and athlete for 30 years and I’ve never seen anyone brake 23-minutes. That was one of the fastest times ever and it wasn’t one of the fastest days, ever.
