There are no fresh problems exposed by the storm. Emergency crews spent the day stabilizing the streets, they are working to replace drainpipes that were melted in the wildfires. A run for 28 miles under the street. In this case, the pipes caused a small sinkhole to open up this morning. Overnight it was able to migrate downhill, where there is no longer a storm drain in place and created erosion concerns. Reporter fortunately, the rain was not as bad as it couldve been but the concern is more storms could mean more sinkholes that undermine the integrity of the streets. Specialized cameras are helping the city identify the problem spots and so far they have found 31 sections of fire damaged pipes. The race is on to repair them as the rainy season descends on the fire zones. The south bay got the last main round of rain tonight, there are still some left over showers, we have not seen a storm the strong and more than eight months.
