No place or at least no other place than the street. The city shelters cant go in there because they would be too close to one another. Instead, nonprofit organizations are giving them tents and tell them to shelter in place. And in this case, in the tenderloin, that place is the sidewalk. The idea is that theyre contained, not going to be spreading the virus. But theyre going to stay in the tents. But the reality is different. Just take a look. Theyre not staying in the tents. Theyre out on the streets. And with it are the other problems, the Mental Illness, the drugs, the other things associated with population that are going with them. Its one thing what youre seeing on the streets. The other thing is what youre not seeing all the time. Those are the people that are living in the hotels here and apartments here that are virtually being held prisoner because they cant go out on the streets and mingle with this. The north bay. Pretty cool out there. Fortunately, we are looking for changes right in time for the weekend. 50 in berkeley. Hottest day of the year yesterday, fog in the north bay, along the coast. With that west wind today, temperatures are already 4 to 5 degrees cooler. Were still 5 to 10 degrees above average in our east bay valleys. Quarter to half a mile, santa rosa, petaluma. And the fog forecast allows for some of that fog across the bay this morning, then it pulls back by about 11 00. And some of these warmer numbers translating into the 80s will be arriving in our inland east bay. But thats going to be just in the low to mid 80s. How about upper 50s at the shoreline today, liz . Santa cruz with a high of mid to upper 60s today. Onshore flow bringing the numbers down all over the bay area, well into the 90s on the peninsula, mid and upper 70s in San Francisco. So, overall, 15 to 20 degrees cooler in parts of our inland valleys and we started that cooldown yesterday along the coast. Theres a look at san jose, 54 in napa, as well as concord, and with the visibility, the fog, it has been reduced threequarters of a mile, santa rosa, peta two miles at the shoreline.
