it s a school, a mall, a church, a walmart, whatever it happens to be, as you enunciated it s happening over and over again. we have to get to anger but can t let that push us to frustration and discouragement. that s i think what the gun sort of lobby wants. they warrant us to get to the point where we re so discouraged we give up and say that s who we are. it s got to take anger to a level where this becomes a huge part of any campaign in our political environment. since greg abbott, the republican governor of texas, has got to be governor, mass shootings in texas have risen 100%. 100% rise in mass shootings since greg abbott has been governor and what has he done in that time? he s actually made it easier for people to get access to guns, not made it harder.
happens what are your thoughts on that? we ll think twice, i guess, you know? and it makes you afraid to go out in the community. this is a very safe community, or i thought it was. and the mall, we frequent here quite often and, you know it s going to make me think. and that speaks to the bigger issue here. people that are afraid of going to the mall, of being in a school, these are the things that people are having to go through on a saturday afternoon, and now, a lot of these victims, because they are, they experienced this shooting, and they experienced the chaos, being afraid, having to hide, and now, unfortunately, more and more people in this country are having to do this, and to do it over and over again, no matter where it is, because these people say, look, i thought my community was safe, but here we
juliette, you heard jeremy say that the president has been updated, offering i m told that juliette is no longer with us so, let s go to steve moore, you heard jeremy say right there that the president has been updated on this, offering his support. is there anything, in terms of law enforcement response, that the president can help with? well, in terms of law enforcement response, i think we can t just look at a mall here, we have to look at schools, we have to look at other places where people could congregate and be consider ed high target areas. and so, yeah, he could come up with some some plan to put more officers, more police in areas where the most vulnerable people are. after 9/11, again, tsa was a
assessment of the scene at this point? at this point, it appears to be al resolution phase, where you are trying to get people out of the mall so that you can do some of your investigation as necessary or continue your investigation. you want to get people home, you want to get people united with family members. you want to just take the entire situation down a couple of notches. obviously, it s been up at 11 for awhile, and they want to bring it back as soon as possible to normalcy. and as the same time, you re having extremely difficult meetings with people who are looking for family members that have been involved in the shooting. and so, there s a lot going on with law enforcement right now. some of it resolving and some of it just ramping up.
chief ramsey, your reaction to that report, learning that the victims at this particular medical organization range from ages 5 to 61 and are being treated at trauma facilities? well, i mean, it s not surprising. you ve got a crowded mall. you re going have a lot of small children there, you re going to have adults, you re going to have older people there, and if he just randomly firing, you know, a lot of people are going to get hit. and that part is not surprising. we still don t know how many of them i would assume from that information, they are all suffering from gunshot wounds, at least that s the impression i got, but there the status, are they stable or what have you, and of course, we don t know what s going on inside the mall right now but one thing seems certain, there are going to be multiple casualties in this particular situation
