conference, likely within the next hour, with more info information. camila brunal joins me now with more sound from eye withnesses. paula. the more time that goes by, the more and more people just speaking out about what they went through, what they ex experienced and how traumatic all of this was. this shooting happened at 3:36 p.m. on a saturday, so, there were many, many people out at the mall, officials in allen, texas, saying that the officer who killed the shooter was actually out on an unrelated call, and he heard the gun shots, went towards that shooter, and eventually killed the shooter, according to law enforcement sources, telling our colleague john miller, the shooter was actually wearing tactical gear. and so, all of this is something that a lot of people at the mall saw and heard and witnessed, so, i want you to listen to another
unfortunately. but it s not unusual. and it s just again, it goes to the tragedy of the whole thing, i mean, 5 years old, teenagers, elderly, the randomness of this, it s just what you see. that s what s taking place. these guys, they just don t care. th they go in and they just start shooting, and people want to blame everything on mental illness there are some people that are just flat-out evil, and i ve seen them and i ve encountered them, and there s nothing wrong with them mentally, they re just evil, for whatever reason. and they do these kinds of things. so, it will be interesting to find more out about the shooter as time goes on. as time goes on, more and more information will dribble out, the situation at the hospital, how many deceased we have inside the mall, but just one more tragedy that we have in this country, and unfortunately, more to come. chief ramsey, thank you.
who were his friends? who did he talk to? did he tell anybody that he was going to do this? the mine, the gold mine that they re looking for right now is not going to be at the mall, as important as the work at the mall is. the gold mine that they re trying to get to is going to be in this guy s computer, social media presence, and family and friends. so they are probably right now, you d have a you d have to get warrants, obviously, but you d be looking at his computer, you have teams looking at that, you d have people talking to any of his friends, you d have computer teams literally trying to locate people by email addresses that would reveal people that they could interview. and the way you do this, i mean, allen, texas, obviously, has a
in a mall on a saturday. at places like this. and so, there are going to be teenagers, younger bystanders who will not be able to process this, maybe in a way that a more that an older person could. we certainly know, at least the data, of school shootings, that there s a generation that we now that is now known as generation lockdown, this is the generation of kids that grew up both after after columbine, but then, of course, sandy hook, who are used to active shooter drills. perceived the risk of guns and the likely hood that they will be in a mass shooting, is much higher than adult us, and they are impacted by it in psychological and sometimes even physical ways that we adults aren t processing. so, we can there s the deaths, as a harm, there s the injuries as a harm, but each of these is just having circles and
was. you are hearing of people helping each other, people who needed to hide, because they did not know exactly what was going on. here s a woman who was out shopping and who says, you know, she s now thinking twice about what she s going to do about going to a mall. here she is. the store manager came running in, get to the back, get to the back. so, we all ran to the back. she shut the door and everything and then that s when she said she was over trying to get a f funnel cake and said there s been a shooting and we have to stay in the back until you get it all clear. did you hear anything? she did. we did not. because we were kind of in the back of the store, but it was like, i guess h and m was literally right across the parking lot so, she really moved fast and got us to safety, so, we really do appreciate her efforts. very brave and courageous and quick-thinking. so, you know, you go to the mall on saturday afternoon to do a little shopping and then this
