activity, because the investigation of the shooter is in high gear right now, and you may see some of these police units, the unmarked ones, especially, leaving the scene so that they can assist in the other phase, which is basically writing a biography on this shooter to get to know everything they can about him as soon as they can. steve moore, thank you so much, appreciate that analysis. if you are just joining us, right now, we are following a shooting in allen, texas. we know from law enforcement officials that one shooter is dead. there were earlier reports of a second shooter. law enforcement says they do not believe there was a second shooter. nine people have been transported by ambulance to medical facilities. law enforcement says they are not sure if other additional victims may have been transported in private cars. this point, law enforcement says it is too soon to give firm numbers on the total fatalities. congressman for this district tells us at this point,
they believe he was acting alone. they also say that nine victims have been transported to local medical facilities. we ve learned that the youngest victim at this point is just 5 years old. at this point, there is no information on the total number of fatalities or a possible motive. i want to bring in now camila bernal, i understand you have some new video? yeah, we just got new video into cnn, this is a man who was at the mall at the time of the shooting, he was in the parking lot. and he was able to record part of the time where these shots are heard and people are seen running out of the small. there s of course a lot of come mow shun. at the beginning of the video, you hear five shots and then you start hearing more gunfire. now, i do want to warn you that this video is disturbing. here it is. [ gunfire ]
happens what are your thoughts on that? we ll think twice, i guess, you know? and it makes you afraid to go out in the community. this is a very safe community, or i thought it was. and the mall, we frequent here quite often and, you know it s going to make me think. and that speaks to the bigger issue here. people that are afraid of going to the mall, of being in a school, these are the things that people are having to go through on a saturday afternoon, and now, a lot of these victims, because they are, they experienced this shooting, and they experienced the chaos, being afraid, having to hide, and now, unfortunately, more and more people in this country are having to do this, and to do it over and over again, no matter where it is, because these people say, look, i thought my community was safe, but here we
assessment of the scene at this point? at this point, it appears to be al resolution phase, where you are trying to get people out of the mall so that you can do some of your investigation as necessary or continue your investigation. you want to get people home, you want to get people united with family members. you want to just take the entire situation down a couple of notches. obviously, it s been up at 11 for awhile, and they want to bring it back as soon as possible to normalcy. and as the same time, you re having extremely difficult meetings with people who are looking for family members that have been involved in the shooting. and so, there s a lot going on with law enforcement right now. some of it resolving and some of it just ramping up.
