Welcome back to our special, highlighting the feelgood stories of 2020, we take you to martinez, where an attorney is helping feed people who are in need of a meal amid the covid19 pandemic, christina tells us that he is also helping restaurants that need a boost in business by pairing the two together. The lunch rush has slowed a bit during the pandemic. Owner david getting a boost from a donor. Going day by day, wondering how you are going to make rent, somebody comes with a check for 1,500 out of just the kindness of his heart, thats something very amazing. It is one of 16 downtown restaurants gifted money from a program called meals to martinez. I think a lot of people when they hear about this, it doesnt make sense to them, they feel it is too good to be true. The local attorney donated 30,000 from the restaurants to the law offices with the help of the nonprofit main street martinez, the meal program is giving out 600 meal vouchers to people in need redeemable at one of the 16 re

Still smoke from those wildfires raging across california and oregon leaving the bay area with some of the worst air quality in the world tonight. And that smoke is expected to linger through the weekend. Our chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow is here with the details on what we should expect lawrence we need that out of here. Yeah we certainly do and to get that out of here we need really a push for some good gusty winds right now were not getting that we just got a light breeze so there you go youve got sites like this all around the bay area that smoke. Just sitting right down on the ground and its unhealthy all around the bay area in fact right now youre looking at some very unhealthy smoke sitting acros

Stay. I think we saw some improvement up above we had some mix in the atmosphere bit. Little more sunshine pop up in spots still some very poor air quality no getting around it that sits there tonight you can see up toward sfo you see the light you see all the smoke down below and as we look toward the Golden Gate Bridge weve got some fog rolling on shore thats good. Unfortunately. It just kind of a thin marine layer so there again nice pressure off the ocean but that is just mixing with some of the smoke out there as well and theyre just so small so much smoke around right now back weve got some very poor air quality in quite rapidly in fact last hour it was all across the bay into
Visits to the respiratory urgent care center. Now at 10 wildfires continue to rage up and down the west coast leading to some of the worst air quality on the planet. Hard to breathe unhealthy to be outside. This is what many people experienced today. And unfortunately that smoke is expected to linger right on through the weekend chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow joins us live as we went from orange on wednesday to gray worse today and the air quality really deteriorated as the week progressed, yeah, you know all that smoke from up above all the orange skies. That all makes down to the surface down thats where we sit we dont have a real way to get out of town unless were to get a storm. Good wind event to start to mix that out were not even seeing the heating that we normally see

With some improvement as we get into early next week because of some other factors are going to help out with the sky conditions to again this g
