During the last hearing, the High Court suggested KIIFB officials and Issac who were summoned by the ED to appear before it on courts watch. Today, even though KIIFB agreed to appear, Issac refused.
“The (police) uniform is trust. It is not something given to you, to use the power (the way) you want,” the Court added, while addressing the accused police officer's counsel.
"I would like to suggest, if you want you can cooperate with the summons once. This is just a suggestion. I will ensure there is no arrest, no intimidation," single-judge Justice Devan Ramachandran said.
The Court said that as per Section 23(2) of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, Registrars can be punished for refusing to register any birth or death occurring within their jurisdiction without reasonable cause.
The advocate alleged that Justice A Badharudeen's attitude towards him was inhuman, and discourteous and said that he was saddened and humiliated by the lack of fraternity and mutual respect expected from the Bench.
