The Pleasant Valley volleyball team is one step closer to returning to being named the Division II Northern Section champions, as the Vikings enter the NSCIF D-II championship match for an 11th straight season. Thursday night the Vikings (29-10) defeated Shasta 25-23, 25-13, 25-21 in the NSCIF D-II semifinals at PV.
The Pleasant Valley volleyball team came out strong and aggressive early in its match against Chico High School on Thursday, looking to avenge its football team's shutout loss to the Panthers in Almond Bowl 52. On senior night for the PV and the final regular season match for both teams, the Vikings leaned on their seniors en route to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-19) victory on their home court of Varley Gym at PV.

The Vikings defeated the Panthers 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-15) to take over first place in the Eastern Athletic League, as both teams entered with a 3-1 record in league.
