PHNOM PENH, April 10 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The government will cover utility bills for families whose member died to Covid-19 positive with the disease and those under quarantine. This support only applies for all cases linked to the February community event.
“I issue this intervention to help the families who have their member deceased from the Covid-19. The government will pay on their behalf on water and electricity use for five months. For the family with member tested positive, the state will pay for them for three months, effective from the date when the authority confirm the case,” Hun Sen said.

Cambodia logs 26th Covid fatality, 477 new infections

The Ministry of Health on April 10 reported 477 Covid-19 cases linked to the February 20 community outbreak and the 26th death from the disease.
Among the 477, five are Chinese nationals and the rest are Cambodian including two children aged 1 to 12.
Phnom Penh recorded the most cases at 454, followed by Preah Sihanouk at six; four each in Kandal, Takeo and Svay Rieng; Prey Veng at three; and one each in Kampong Thom and Siem Reap.
The ministry also reported 96 recoveries linked to the February 20 outbreak.
The deceased patient, identified as a 59-year-old Cambodian man residing in Kandouk commune of Kandal province s Kandal Stung district, died before he arrived at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital.

Phnom Penh, April 10 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Phnom Penh municipal governor Khuong Sreng late on Friday (April 9) placed parts of three districts in two-week lockdown as Covid-19 cases in the areas soar to an alarming level. The lockdown will last through April 23.
Sreng said on Saturday (April 10) the decision came after 631 workers from Din Han Enterprise, which has over 2,600 workers, tested Covid-19 on April 9 alone, just hours after the Ministry of Health reported 576 new cases linked to the February 20 community outbreak and the country s 25th Covid-19 fatality.

PHNOM PENH, April 9 (Xinhua) Cambodia has recorded 576 new local cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the highest-ever since the virus hit the kingdom in January last year, a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement said on Friday.
The figure surpassed the previous highest daily record of 179 cases on March 26.
Of the new cases, 544 were found in capital Phnom Penh, 16 in Svay Rieng province, 12 in Preah Sihanouk province, two in Siem Reap province and one each in Kandal and Kampong Cham provinces, the statement said.
The MoH s secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine on Friday called on the people to stay at home during the upcoming Khmer New Year holiday from April 14-16 in order to help curb the virus spread.
