A bench of Justices AS Supehia and MR Mengdey said that prosecution failed to establish that the appellant had made the threat-note or planted it in the lavatory of the aircraft.
The High Court came down heavily on the State government for its inaction, saying it has 'no spine or guts' to take strict action against traffic violators.
The bench led by Justice AS Supehia highlighted the fact that there are several cases, wherein convictions are premised on weak piece of evidence and despite that the convicts have to languish in prison for decades.
A Division Bench of Justices AS Supehia and MR Mengdey remarked that the Kavina, after being conferred Senior Advocate status, seemed to have turned ignorant of the responsibilities and duties attached to such an honor.
