A 3. 3 magnitude quake hit about 5 00 a. M. It was about 13 miles north of healdsburg. No reports of injuries or damage so far. But what a way to wake up at least for those folks. And yesterday we were waking up to pounding rain across the bay area. Kari has a look at our forecast right now. That rain is getting lighter. This storm system is moving out but it was impressive. Now as we take a look at storm ranger, we are catching a break for much of the bay area. Still some lingering showers down around gilroy as well as around the napa area over toward Solano County. Pretty clear morning overall visibility and fog cast is holding up just fine as fog sits right off shore and out into the central valley, not so much for those of us here in the bay. Now right now temperatures are chilly again livermore and dublin back down into the 30s. San ramon youre at 43 while oakland at 44 San Francisco and berkeley or 2 spots in the 50s. Well, the north face an even cooler conditions petaluma at 34 right now fairfield at a cool 35 degrees. So you get bundled up definitely stay cozy on this morning. Its even a touch cooler than it was yesterday in areas like novato San Francisco in Half Moon Bay. So were definitely starting things out with a bit of a chill later on today daytime highs climb back into the 60s well be back into the mid 60s for your highs whether youre at the coast or further inland. Lets start right with kari this morning with a look at that for us. Kari . Yeah, a lot of us in the valleys are not feeling the high winds but i am monitoring the Mountain Wind gusts that have been up to about 58 Miles Per Hour in the last hour especially in the north bay. With the high fire danger, the low humidity and the high winds will make it very dangerous for any sparks that could spread rapidly and were going to continue to have this wind advisory, those high winds, through at least this evening. Were also watching some high waves along the coast, so well talk more about all of this in the forecast coming up. Mike, are you seeing any issues for the morning commute . Going to be looking at conditions today much like yesterday except for one big difference skies will stay clear temperatures remain mild, its beautiful out there now the difference as winds there come down substantially from the same point yesterday we saw windy conditions for your thanksgiving, especially for the north bay. Were petaluma and nevado are each at 34 san anselmo at freezing at 30 to all santa rose at 33 degrees little more mild in areas like alameda in oakland at 48. The much talked about surge in covid19 cases appears to be happening in california. New numbers show a shocking rise in infections hitting numbers not seen in months. The state reported nearly 11,000 diagnosed cases today, the highest since early august. The Positivity Rate continues to rise with the 14day rate jumping to 4. 4 . It was 4 on friday. That number is a strong indicator of the transmission rate of the virus. Nearly 3700 people are in the hospital getting treated for covid19 and about 1000 of them are in the icu. Now, the spike in covid cases is increasing the demand for testing right here in the bay area. But some testing sites are reaching capacity.
