47-year-old John Ingersoll stands accused of murdering ECI officer Gregory Collins.
According to the state, back in June of 2001, Ingersoll shot and killed former Officer Collins while he was driving home after his shift at ECI.
That caused the car to swerve off the road and hit a tree. Collins was later reported missing after he did not come home that evening. His car was later found along a wooden area along Indiantown road.
Ingersoll’s trial is expected to end next week on June 11th. He faces charges of 1st degree murder, 2nd degree murder, assault, and possession of a firearm.
