Delmarva Shorebirds receive over $244K in state recovery initiative

47abc June 16, 2021 SALISBURY, Md., – Nearly $245,000 of state money is headed to the Delmarva Shorebirds as a part of the recovery initiative. That was announced by Gov. Larry Hogan on Wednesday, as a part of a $10M dollar relief effort going to 65 live music and performance venues in Maryland. The Shorebirds will receive exactly $244,716 from the pot. We’re told the money, from the Department of Housing and Community Development, is going to venues who had to cancel events and performances due to capacity limitations in response to the pandemic. The General Manager for the Delmarva Shorebirds says this money could not have come at a better time, after the struggles of the pandemic and now trying to get back on track.

Trial begins for East New Market man accused of killing ECI officer 20 years ago

47abc June 3, 2021 47-year-old John Ingersoll stands accused of murdering ECI officer Gregory Collins. According to the state, back in June of 2001, Ingersoll shot and killed former Officer Collins while he was driving home after his shift at ECI. That caused the car to swerve off the road and hit a tree. Collins was later reported missing after he did not come home that evening. His car was later found along a wooden area along Indiantown road. Ingersoll’s trial is expected to end next week on June 11th. He faces charges of 1st degree murder, 2nd degree murder, assault, and possession of a firearm.

Women s History Month: Salisbury Chief Of Police shares pathway to law enforcement and passion to serve

47abc March 11, 2021 SALISBURY, Md. – In honor of Women’s History Month we are continuing to highlight women in the community who lead and have made a difference. On Thursday, 47 ABC had the opportunity to sit down with Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan for a look at her life and her passion to serve the community. Duncan tells 47 ABC her initial experience with policing came around the age of 16, when she participated in a ride along with a police officer in her community. At that time, she learned more about policing from that officer and why he chose that career path. That is when she says she knew this was the career she wanted to pursue.
