Savvy Partners Are Embracing AI, Security, Cloud: Channel Chiefs

Many key technology areas that were already growing prior to the pandemic have gotten accelerated, producing an even greater need for solution providers to focus in on areas such as cybersecurity, cloud and AI, a panel of channel chiefs said during the Best of Breed Virtual event Wednesday.
Without a doubt, the IT industry has become even more essential amid the impacts of COVID-19, said Ron Dupler, CEO of Kittery, Maine-based solution provider GreenPages, who served as moderator for the panel.
Proofpoint has agreed to purchase data loss protection MSP InteliSecure to help customers protect critical data in diverse environments.
The email security vendor said its proposed US$62.5 million acquisition of Greenwood Village, Colo.-based InteliSecure will simplify data protection for customers by streamlining policy creation and providing unified event visibility across tools. InteliSecure also will deliver real-time reporting required by key stakeholders and reduce noise to increase focus on critical incidents.
“We’ve seen exceptional customer demand for information protection managed services as organizations are continuing to work in a cloud-first, remote-oriented world,” Proofpoint CEO Gary Steele said in a statement. “The acquisition of InteliSecure will support our ability to collectively help our customers and partners with people-centric managed security services.”

Proofpoint s channel director for Australia and New Zealand, Johann Ramchandra, has been appointed as the cyber security vendor s new senior director of channel sales across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
The newly created role sees Ramchandra oversee the company s channel operations across APJ, working to underscore Proofpoint s self-proclaimed continued commitment and investment to accelerate its partner execution across all key markets within the region.
