The Capital City Lady Cavaliers saved their best minute of basketball for the final minute Monday night. The Warrensburg Lady Tigers trailed the Lady Cavaliers by one point with 1:02 to play, but Capital City went on a 6-0 run to finish the game, pulling out a 53-46 victory at Capital City High School.
The Capital City offense went quiet late. The Lady Cavaliers came back from a third-quarter deficit to take a fourth-quarter lead, but were unable to hold on as the Eldon Lady Mustangs beat Capital City 53-50 at Capital City High School on Tuesday.
Helias coach Davis Harris had a question after Monday night’s volleyball match against the Capital City Lady Cavaliers. “Well, we beat a district opponent and a conference opponent. Does that count as two wins?” Harris jokingly said after the Lady Crusaders won in a 25-18, 25-11, 25-22 sweep at Helias Gym.
