Raghubar Das, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has been appointed as the new governor of Odisha by President Droupadi Murmu. He will replace Ganeshi Lal, who has been serving as the governor since May 2018. Das, a member of the OBC community, made history by becoming the first non-tribal Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2014 to 2019. He has been actively involved in politics for many years and has held various positions within the BJP. Das, a grassroots leader of the BJP, is a former employee of Tata Steel.
