Soren's message from jail was read by his wife Kalpana at the opposition bloc INDIA's 'Ulgulan Nyay' rally, which was attended by leaders of 28 parties.
While the ED alleges that Soren illegally obtained the parcel of land through his associates as part of a land grabbing syndicate, Raj Kumar Pahan, who lives in the Bariatu area of Ranchi, rejected the claim saying he was among the descendents of the original owners of the plot and that it had not been sold to anyone.
The Enforcement Directorate attached a receipt of a refrigerator and a smart TV as evidence against former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren. The ED claimed that the two items were purchased by Santosh Munda, who claimed to be the caretaker of Soren s property
Earlier on Wednesday evening, JMM Chief Hemant Soren met Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhawan and handed over his resignation after over six hours of questioning by the ED in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the alleged land scam case.
