Block off berkeleys busy avenue at the intersection of channing way and fulton street. That intersection just recently reopened. Abc 7 News Reporter joins us live from the scene with the very latest. Officials just reopened that intersection about an hour ago, but this is a crosswalk where the 70yearold woman was crossing when she was struck by a vehicle coming westbound here on channing way. The driver of that vehicle driving a city car. He or she was a city worker. When they failed to see the woman, hitting her, eventually killing her. But we do want to show you some video from the scene here. The accident happened just before 1 30 this afternoon. A city of berkeley employee was driving the city car, came to a complete stop at the intersection. The driver did not see the woman who was at the crosswalk and hit her.
